Barrier-free travel

As Austria's largest mobility provider, ÖBB's goal is to offer all customers comfortable travel.

Over one million people in our country are temporarily or permanently restricted in their mobility. In order to offer this customer group suitable travel options, ÖBB continuously invests in barrierfree travel.

Accordingly, Österreichische Postbus Aktiengesellschaft's aim with the Postbus Shuttle is to provide all customers with a comfortable and safe journey by vehicle. In particular, we strive to provide our passengers with reduced mobility with non-discriminatory access to our services. We would like to point out that due to the design of the vehicles, it is not physically possible for a passenger with reduced mobility to board, disembark or travel in the vehicles without restrictions.

Not every vehicle is equipped with a ramp or wheelchair space. You can see whether a wheelchair space is available when you book via the Postbus Shuttle App or find out from our customer advisor when you make your reservation by phone. To book a ride on the Postbus Shuttle by telephone (where available), use the telephone number(s) provided on our website (https://www.postbus.at/de/unsere-leistungen/postbus-shuttle) to get in touch with the responsible customer advisor.

Please note that a reservation of the wheelchair space is only possible after booking via our Postbus Shuttle App or after booking by phone and is only available according to capacity. We can only guarantee the carriage of passengers with limited mobility using orthopaedic aids (mechanical or electric wheelchairs, rollators or walking frames) if an appropriate wheelchair space is available. We ask for your understanding that we are unable to carry manually operated bicycle wheelchairs, so-called "hand bikes", due to lack of space.

Assistance dogs are specially trained for people with disabilities. They are wheelchair-, signal-, therapy- and guide dogs for the blind as well as dogs in training with an accompanying person and a training certificate of the partner dog institute. Assistance dogs have an appropriate chest harness or document. Assistance dogs travel free of charge and do not need a muzzle.
