Apprentices restore classic vintage vehicles

A piece of Austrian engineering history is shining in new splendor - and for a good cause: 19 ÖBB Postbus apprentices from Tyrol and Vorarlberg have completely restored a 1952 Steyr tractor in months of detailed work. The project combines craftsmanship excellence with social commitment and impressively demonstrates what apprentice training at Postbus means: team spirit, responsibility, and passion.

The aspiring automotive technicians put around 600 hours of work into the project - from dismantling and engine repair to the final paint job. The result: a fully functional Steyr classic that perfectly combines history, craftsmanship, and social commitment.

The 73-year-old tractor was ceremoniously handed over to LICHT INS DUNKEL managing director Mario Thaler at the ÖBB headquarters in Vienna. Thanks to ÖBB's cooperation with LICHT INS DUNKEL, the three previous projects have already raised €126,000 in donations. This year, the restored vintage car will again be auctioned off. Bids can be placed from November 14 to December 14: AURENA Auktion für LICHT INS DUNKEL
