Schlüsselübergabe zum Anlass "1000.er Iveco Postbus"

ÖBB Postbus fleet grows

The acquisition of the 1000th IVECO bus makes public transport in rural areas even more attractive

In Lower Austria, 40% of public transport is provided by road. Buses are indispensable for a nationwide coverage of the population. Year after year, the Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region (VOR = Eastern Region Transport Association) handles around 108 million kilometers of bus services, 39 million kilometers of which are handled by the Postbus. With around 930 bus drivers and 679 buses, the Postbus is not only on the road for our customers in the Eastern Region every day, but is also a reliable partner for the province of Lower Austria and the VOR for many years. We serve 494 communities in Lower Austria alone. In order to get people away from their cars and onto public transport, not only reliability but above all appropriate modern vehicle material is needed.

New and modern buses for an attractive public service

On 27 October 2020 the 1.000th IVECO bus was handed over to the Postbus. This not only intensifies the partnership with VOR and with the province of Lower Austria as well as IVECO, but these vehicles also offer the highest level of passenger comfort, especially on regional bus routes - and they are barrier-free. The Crossway Low Enty vehicles are perfectly suited for both urban and intercity use and provide excellent boarding and alighting comfort for all passengers. "We are proud of the proven and trusting partnership with our clients, the Province of Lower Austria and the VOR, as well as with the company Iveco. For many people, the Postbus is a reliable mobility partner that is well established in the region and brings our passengers safely and punctually to their destination," said Postbus board member Alfred Loidl at the ceremonial takeover of the bus at Landhausplatz in St. Pölten.
