Austria-wide: The regionally competent transport stations can issue a confirmation for you. For contact details, please contact our customer service department. Please specify the bus line and time of the service when making your request!

Are students/apprentices holding a free travel card entitled to a seat?

Austria-wide: the purchase of a ticket does not constitute an entitlement to a seat and to the carriage in a specific vehicle (§ 27 of the conditions of carriage for motor vehicle services [Kraftfahrlinien-Beförderungsbestimmungen]).

Who can a passenger contact if he/she is unable to travel on a scheduled bus because this is already filled to capacity with students?

Austria-wide:

Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland: From the competent transport station and at times, particularly at school starting time, from the driver.

Upper Austria: From the competent transport station and the Upper Austrian Transport Association.

Salzburg: From the Salzburg Transport Association (SVV) and the transport undertakings.

Vorarlberg: On request, schools can get school timetables from the transport management.

Tyrol: On the school bus or in any transport station and from the Transport Association Tyrol (VVT).

Carinthia: From the regional customer service offices.

Styria: From the regional service offices and at times, particularly at school starting time, from the driver.
